Doctrinal Statement

This doctrinal statement is not an endeavor to make Scripture align with a preconceived system of belief.  Rather, this is an endeavor to summarize the teachings of the Bible.
Therefore, all of the following are from correlation of the whole Bible.  Any Scriptures here are listed as a beginning for study rather than as a proof text.  For questions regarding any point, please email the Stalcups.
We do believe these Bible doctrines, but this page lacks the phrase “We believe…” in order to emphasize the truth of these doctrines regardless of our endorsement. Bible doctrines are true and not subjective.  That is, they are not dependent on any person’s belief or endorsement.  The purpose of this statement is not to create debate but rather to explain who we are and how we understand Scripture.
We also agree with the doctrinal statement of our sending church, Emmanuel Baptist of Kings Mountain, NC.

The one God is seen from three perspectives and is infinite, holy, and good.
  • The one and only God is known from three perspectives: the Father Who sent salvation to mankind, the Son Jesus Christ who is the Revelation of Himself to mankind in physical body, and the Holy Spirit.
  • As self-existent Creator, God is holy, right, good, true, faithful, merciful, omnipotent, omniscient, and sovereign.

Gen 1:1, Isa 40:18, Mk 10:18, Rom 2:4, Jn 1:1-3, 5:23, 1 Jn 5:7, 1 Tim 3:16

The Bible is God’s inerrant, inspired, preserved Word.
  • The 66 books of the Bible form the complete, infallible, inerrant, authoritative Word of God. Originally, they were verbally, plenarily inspired and are verbally, plenarily preserved in the Greek TR and Hebrew Masoretic Text.
  • God desires that all languages should have an accurate translation of His Word.  An accurate translation should follow formal equivalence as much as possible to communicate the meaning of the preserved Greek and Hebrew texts.  Because the King James is translated from the correct texts and because it was translated by the correct method of translation, it is the only correct translation of God’s Word in English.
  • God’s special revelation to mankind is complete in the Bible. God’s word will not be amended or corrected by dreams, prophecies, tongues, or discoveries of other documents.
  • Man is accountable to know and obey God’s Word.

Our Family

We were married on July 4th, 2013, and immediately began serving the Lord together in our church. We have enjoyed singing in the choir, working in the Christmas drama, teaching boys’ Sunday School, directing the Master Clubs (elementary grades Wednesday program), and serving in church visitation together. The Lord blessed us with our daughter Anna Faith November 2, 2014. Timothy Richard Stalcup, Jr. was born February 5, 2017. Throughout the past several years, we have prayed and researched how the Lord might enable us to impact the nation of Afghanistan. We look forward to serving the Lord as a family in New York City evangelizing Afghan Muslims there.
